THE WALDORF PROJECT

The Waldorf Project is a radical immersive experience on a grand stage in which art is consumed through all of the senses.

The project will run over a number of installments. Chapter Five will be staged soon.

The experience will unite the senses through movement, sound, food, scent, psychology and environment. Key to this concept is the synergy between the various aspects of the event and the imaginations of the creative team, all being directed and orchestrated by artist Sean Rogg.

From its genesis eight years ago as a multi-sensory dining experience, the Waldorf Project has evolved into a daring experiment in consciousness transformation. The evolution continues as we look forward to the next chapter "KAIHOGYO" coming soon.

CHAPTER FIVE/KAIHOGYO

In the north-eastern hills outside Kyoto, Japan there is a mountain known as Mount Hiei. That mountain is littered with unmarked graves. Those graves mark the final resting place of the Tendai Buddhist monks who have failed to complete a quest known as the Kaihogyo.

Legend has it that the monks of Mount Hiei run 1,000 marathons in 1,000 days in their quest to reach enlightenment. Those who succeed the Kaihogyo become revered, as human Buddhas or living saints.

We will use this journey as a metaphor to present a performance never before experienced by anyone in context of art, science, or theatre to achieve true enlightenment.

As with previous chapters, all disciplines will be engaged and synchronized: from the visionary set and sound design through gastronomy to light and movement. Everything will be thought through and interwoven to give the guests a journey to the future where Emotion in its purest form will be your guide to connect you to yourself and others.
